The Story of a Year, Captured in its Fullness.

At Maison Krug, each Krug Vintage is the sensory interpretation of a singular year. Unlike many seasonal champagnes, here it's not just about an exceptional vintage, but a liquid narrative - a selection of that year's most expressive wines, aged for over a decade to reveal, with time and precision, all their complexity.

Each edition is unique. A faithful portrait of the surprises, contrasts and emotions experienced in the vineyard and in the tasting room, translated into a champagne with a strong personality, solid structure and great elegance. Krug Vintage is always the result of a fine balance between three grape varieties - Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and P. Meunier - in a composition meticulously thought out to mirror the character of a particular year, with all the precision and creative freedom that defines the Maison.

It's a champagne with memory, density and soul - designed not just to accompany a meal, but to tell a story at the table.

How to enjoy Krug Vintage: Food Pairings and Recommendations.

Krug Vintage is a deep and expressive champagne, with the structure and persistence to accompany dishes of great flavour and complexity. Its gastronomic profile adapts well to recipes with subtle contrasts or enveloping aromatic layers. At O Gaveto Restaurant, the following pairings stand out:

  • Cooked Seafood – Dishes such as lobster or garlic prawns allow Krug Vintage to reveal its more gastronomic dimension, balancing richness and freshness naturally.

  • Grilled Fish – Grilled turbot, grouper or sea bass are perfect partners, allowing the champagne to accompany the firm texture of the fish with elegance and depth.

  • Sea Rice – The density and intense flavours of dishes such as monkfish rice or lobster rice find an aromatic mirror in Krug Vintage, uniting sea and terroir in a single gesture.

To best appreciate the elegance and depth of Krug Vintage, we recommend tasting it between 9ºC and 12ºC, in white wine glasses with a good opening, to allow the aromas to be fully revealed.
